Material available: Prelinger Archives is an archive of US films, focusing on industrial, educational, advertising, and amateur ones. It chronologically focuses on films from the 1930s to the 1960s, though it spans from 1903 to the present. Originally all film, this archive reproduces its material digitally. The archive was originally created by Rick Prelinger but has since been acquired by the Library of Congress. The collection over time has increasingly focused on amateur and home-made films. Many of the films in this collection are available via the Creative Commons Public Domain license, while copyright still applies to others.
